The Democrats put the h in whine, Obama puts the ooz in shmooze!

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Just as I predicted the democrats are trying to blame Bush, what else is new, and the Republican party for the failed bail out bill. Of course what everyone seems to ignore is the democrats are the MAJORITY! Nancy Pelosi couldn’t get her own team to vote for the bill. 95 democrats said no! Does America not understand this!? Let me break it down. The democrats are the MAJORITY so they don’t need the Republicans to pass this bill. Having said that, I am glad the bill didn’t pass. With stipens like things for Acorn it should be flushed down the toilet!

We see the lack of leadership and timidity of the left. They don’t want to put their stamp on anything. They want to be able to continue to point their finger at the opposite team. I applaud those on the left and the right that voted this bill down. It is not what the American people want and finally some in government are waking up to what their job is. Nancy is still too busy borrowing Narcissus’es pool.

Worse is the continued whining and stammering of Harry Reed and Nancy Pelosi. The biggest face of the whine though goes to John Kerry. He can’t tell the truth if his life depended on it! They have no idea on how to lead, and have no foward thoughts. From where I sit, the only talent they have is pointing one finger toward the right. As the saying goes, when you point one finger at someone else notice that their are 3 pointing back at you!

Barack Obama is corrupt. His team has made more money off this scandle and the likes of Freddie and Fannie. Why on earth does America think a man that will raise taxes and believes in BIGGER government is going to fix the ills of Wall street? One of the main reasons this bill did not pass is because of Obama’s beloved Acorn. This group is now being investigated for voter fraud among other things. Yea, he is all about change. That is the truth if it means squandering your hard earned change! There is nothing new about Obama. The media is a failed institution and we will get what we deserve.

The bottom line is government needs to stop spending. They couldn’t even do it with this bail out bill. They had to include all their ear marks. Government can’t stop spending OUR money! This is truly the problem. The left, Barny Frank, passed a bill that basically allowed any person to get a loan. This was regardless if they could pay it back. The banks hands were tied by another ill fated idea of the left. Housing is not a right, neither is health care, public transportation or the like. Why don’t the American people understand this?!

By the way, check out Obama’s tax plan. If you think he is looking out for the small business man, you need to think again. His taxes are much higher for us small folk then for those on Wall street. AMERICA WAKE UP! Government needs to be brought into submission. With Obama at the head, we will only go into further debt and chaos.

Get the facts not the shmooze! Lenny

Sex in the City Movie Review NO WAY!

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Well it finally came out on DVD, and I couldn’t wait to see it. This was one of my favorite shows until the last season. I think the last season lost some of its realism giving Sam cancer and having Carri run off to Paris with the Russian. I still loved it but the end was anti-climatic. Hearing all the buzz about the movie, I was expecting to be entertained. Boy, was I disappointed!

I hated this movie. About a 1/3rd way through as Carri was rushing to her wedding I was shaking my head saying, “this is just bad!” Where did my beloved characters go? Had they been snatched by the Steppford wives?!

We catch up with Carri, Samantha, Miranda, Charlotte, Steve and Mr. Big 5 years later. None of these characters resembled the ones I remember. Maybe Charlotte was the closest but her story line was so Cinderella it was hard to take seriously.

Here we find Carrie and Big living together, but still unsure of who they are as a couple. This is more like 1st season with Big still not sure at the final hour of decision. He leaves her at the alter but the acting and belief factor are just soo bad we know it is scripted! We are suppose to believe that one negative comment made the night before by Miranda has put Mr. Big into a tail spin of doubt. NO WAY! Big was always his own man no matter how stupid his mistakes were. He would have never been put off by one of Carrie’s friends comments. JUST RIDICULOUS!

Then we find that Sam has moved to California and given her whole life up for this guy Smith. He is never home, she gets no sex anymore and her day is surronded by creating his career. NO WAY! Samantha would have never left New York and she would have never lost herself in a man. On top of that, Smith is a total different character. He lacks any interest in Sam and his sparkle is totally gone! We are suppose to believe he doesn’t want sex but Sam is dying for it. Come on! He is still in his prime and if anyone wouldn’t be wanting sex it would Samantha. Let’s remember she had cancer and chemo. That would have put her into early and a long winded menopause. Her story line could have been soo good and soo funny! Kim Catrell is a wonderful comedic actress. So much could have been done around her menopause and not wanting sex. Instead, it was this watered down story of how she left her life for her man. OH, PLEASE!

Then we have Steve and Miranda. We come to find out Steve has cheated on her because she doesn’t want sex. NO WAY! Steve would never cheat on Miranda, now she might cheat on him. A more true story line would have centered around her career and her never being home. She could be living the high life at dinners with men and perhaps her slipping away. Meanwhile, Steve is at home being Mr. Mom. The story line was sloppy and not true to who these two people were.

Then we have Charlotte basically a barbie. What else can one say?! There was no substance to the story.

Was this movie made just for the sake of making a movie? When you would watch an episode, you were always left with several different emotions. There was always some deep meaning to the story line, comedic timing, girl banter and bonding. All of this was lacking in this movie. This movie was more of a tradjedy then a comedy and that was never what Sex in the City was! These women are soo talented as are the men and they were wasted in this feel bad film. Mostly it lacked the bond and the girl’s continued banter. They all seemed lost, depressed and unfulfilled. Even their friendships seemed dull.

This movie gets a thumbs down from me. If I had seen it in the theatre, I would have said wait for the DVD or maybe just skip it all together. Now I need a sequeal to get this bad taste out of my mouth! Michael Patrick you need to get back to the typewriter and remember who your characters really were!

Conditional Love

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

There is nothing worse then conditional love. Of course, the idea is an oxymoron. Love can’t be conditional but we all know exactly what I am talking about. It really has nothing to do with love and more to do with control, narrcisim and insecurity. I grew up in a family that understood this tactic and used it often. It took me a long time to say no to such intimidation.

Now, I find myself in a similar situation and it does not feel good. At the same time, I am reminded that Heaven sees all. Things always work out if we move out of the way. If I try to manipulate this situation or give it more fire, it will just grow. If I can just lay it at the floor of Christ, He will make it right for me. Actually, there are several situations this week that I have had to do just that. I wish I could say I had done it perfectly or before the storm hit. I can say when I saw where the situations were going I did cry out for help. Just that alone is progress and I am glad for that.

Emotions are funny things and can really get in the way of our clear view. Just as The Course says this is the ego world and emotions run it. We have a choice to choose the ego or the spirit every time. It isn’t easy to let go of the ego and usually it is a struggle. I can say the more we do it and focus on that choice the eaiser it becomes. Hopefully next time, I won’t even break a sweat. I will know God has it covered and He will make it right. Conditional love, God has never heard of that!

Sarah Palin

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

I can’t believe some women’s reaction to Sarah Palin and her nomination. It just shows what a ruse feminism has been. It isn’t about equality for women only a certain kind of women. Just like snow flakes all women are different. There are those that are dems and those that are republicans. There are those that are pro- life and those pro-choice. Did women on the left seriously think we all think and act like them? Talk about myopic, self serving thought.

Sarah Palin is much more like the women I know! She is real, spends her day multi tasking and keeps it all in check. She is a woman of substance, knows who she is and takes the bull by the horns. Out here in the real world, women are complicated and certainly have conflict with one another over our views. At the end of the day though, we are moms that love our family and our country. We all show up in different shape and size too. Nothing like the sameness we see in Hollywood. It has actually become a yawn! Shame Shame women on the left. You have shown yourselves to be the phonies we always knew you were!
