Big Government Rant

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

In a city in Florida the workers applying for any government job can not have smoked for 12 months. They will be drug tested for tobbaco. This is a little to Orwellen for my taste. The government does not want to have to pay for their health care or insurance due to smoking related issues. I can understand that so why not give the worker a waiver to sign omitting any reliance on insurance in case of illness caused by tobacco? This way the worker can still have his liberty and make a choice. Choice, did I say choice?! Does the left even know what choice means? I think they only understand their choice not the choice of the people.

This new regime wanting to get its hooks into Washington are more of the same old yet even worse. Anyone that believes Obama and his speech of change needs to dig a little deeper. Bigger government, government, more taxes, less defense and ignoring the border issue is not change. It is more of the same. Maybe Obama is getting his words mixed up. Maybe he means to say same not change see how they sound the same?

I also find it a comedy of errors how the government is in everyone’s grill about weight and concern for obesity. Meanwhile, all our public schools still offer a plate of crap for lunch with such sides as fries and pizza. The halls still have soda machines and this is what the government is feeding our kids! Hmm, isn’t that odd because they are soo concerned about nutrition and all. Now, come on government put your mouth where your money is!

And the Universal health care idea is a joke because western medicine is in a rut. Instead of having this small conversation over everyone getting insured lets talk about the virulant bacteria that no longer respond to antibiotics, all the cancers that aren’t cured, and new diseases that can’t be cured. Why would I want Universal Health Care? I do everything I can to not go see a doctor. You have to be your own advocate and get the treatment you need. If you have a serious illness and want to be healed it will take more then one modality to get you there. The days of western medicine having the cure have passed. So wakey wakey!

The conversations are way to small and the egos are way to big. God created us and we can move any mountain we don’t need the government to do it for us! My recommendation WAKE UP! Think for yourself and remember that this is the greatest system in the world. Just because all our leaders are lost in the thicket doesn’t mean we have to be lemmings and go down the drain with them.

Bigger government never makes anything more then a bigger mess. It is private jobs and the private sector that keeps the economy going and encourages new invention and thought. Don’t give in to this liet that government will heal your ills. Government is a dead end street with no fresh ideas. We need to move into the 22nd century and get rid of these paradigms that no longer support us. Lenny

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Changing dynamics

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

Why is it so hard to change dynamics and habits? The big book says doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome is insanity. I have been working on letting go of dynamics I have created with people stemming from my child hood. I always felt unheard and invisible. I went out into the world and continued to pick people that did not notice me. Mostly it was because I came across so strong and not in need. It was less scary for me to show my vulnerable side. We were taught to ignore our emotions or our intutions. My greatest desire is connection. I have continually picked people that can’t or don’t want to offer that.

In my family of origin, we were suppose to focus on our parents and their needs instead of our own. We all went into the world continuing in this vain. Over valuing others over our selves. The more whole I become though I can let those dynamics go.

I also find that a lot of the people I have chosen I don’t even like. That has been quite surprising to me. Why would I seek people, I don’t even like? I think I didn’t really like my parents and maybe I was replaying that dynamic hoping for a different outcome.

Knowning oneself is so important. It is through that self knowldge that we can make better choices and learn how to take care of ourselves. We are taught certain things in our family of origin some of it obvious some set in our sub-concious. Changing these deep rooted ideas and issues takes time. I find it to be 2 steps forward, one step back. The more we recognize what we really want and what we are looking for we can let go of the toxic people in our lives. To me there is nothing greater then knowing oneself. Embrace the depth of that journey. You will be glad you did!

Reverend Wright so wrong!

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Although I do have issues with Obama going to a church that spews hate for 20 years, I am more upset about a supposed man of the cloth saying such vial things. More importantly, his take on Christianity. He said that slave Christianity was different then the slave owner Christianity. Not a more incorrect statement have I ever heard. A side note, hasn’t slavery been abloished for quite some time now? Was Reverand Wright or his congregation slaves? I think not. Why would a preacher lean on a bitter history instead of moving his flock and their hearts forward?

Christianity is color blind. Christ’s teachings are for all men no matter what their background, history or recent issues are. Christ came to teach about love and forgiveness. He tells us we must forgive 70 x 7. If the Call were easy, we would all do it. The true Call of Christ is to come up higher in all instances and that is a hard road to take. The message of Christ is no different for any experience no matter how heinous.

I am mostly upset by his division and hateful speech. His words or understanding don’t remotely fit in with the words and thoughts of Christ. From The Course’s perspective, no one can do anything to you because none of it is real. Although metaphysical concepts are difficult to apply in cases of Holocust or Slavery, they are applicaple none the less.

If we are called up higher, we must take the call. Christ calls us to walk above the fray. All of us must decide do we choose the words of Christ or the thoughts and bitterness of the ego? It is a daily question and we must decide which path to take. The Holy Spirit will lead us in triumph and the ego will lead us in destruction.

Any one standing at the pulpit for God should be ashamed of themselves if they teach any thing other then love and forgiveness. I feel sorry for Reverend Wright he doesn’t know how wrong he is. Worse, he is leading his flock astray!
