Get Out of the Norm

The movie Waitress with Kerri Russell was fantastic!!!! I give it 4 paws. The script was new and different, the characters were interesting and we are reminded as to why we loved Felicity all those years ago! She is such a good actress! I don’t know why she isn’t in more things? I thought the whole cast did a great job.Quick Summary: She lives in a crap town, works at a crap diner off the highway and married an idot in a moment of weakness. He is a bully, she is sweet and choses the passive route when confronted by him. It is actually an interesting dynamic. Jeremy Sisto plays the loser husband and boy does he play it well. He is so creepy, weak and makes your skin crawl. Just awful. You want her to leave him soo badly! She has no money and lacks confidence but she excells in baking pies. She is known for her pies and her great escape is baking them. She becomes pregnant and through this we see transformation. It is an odd journey though and very suttle. It isn’t like ah ha! It is really interesting the way the writer conveys this. It is somewhat tabou in our society but you totally get it and don’t judge. I don’t want to ruin it but the best part of her journey to me is when she has the baby. It was always there she just needed a push. Hey, I think I may go watch it again right now.

Get it, see it and enjoy. Have a pie standing by because you will be craving one through out the movie!

Always the struggle letting go of control. We really only have control in how we choose to handle situations. I find myself always struggling to hold on instead of trusting and letting go. God has a perfect plan even if I can’t see it. God has it covered and nothing is to great for him to carry or fix. In our daily practice, we have to continue to surrender. It is an on going practice because the ego is tough. The ego of this world tells us we are in control but we are only the co-pilots. In the end, if we remain unattached to the outcome and trust God’s plan for each one of us life would be so much eaiser. So easy to say, so hard to do!

Suppose your brother insists on you doing something you do not want to do? His very insistence should tell you that he believes salvation lies in it. If you insist on refusing and experience a quick response of opposition, you are believing that your salvation lies in not doing it. You, then, are making the same mistake he is, and are making his error real to both of you. Insistent means investment , and what you invest in is always related to your notion of salvation. I think this ties in well with what I was discussing the other day. The alternative movement has become no better then the western medicine model. It has decided that salvation lies in diet, essential oils, vitamins, techniques etc. It has become a harsh dissenter of western yet it is ascribing to the same forms of healing. Although we are body and in a fallen world, as Spirit beings we can change our understanding and view of this matter. Jesus did and said you will do this and more.

When we center our lives and connections only on our beliefs we are living in the ego world. This world can not offer up much except the God of the ego and cures that fit in the world of matter. The Course reminds us we must love ourselves and understand we are not seperate from God in order to be healed. All illness is separation and the body only does what the mind tells it. We see this in a corpse. It is lifeless. What is left but dead flesh, dried bones and empty organs.

We vibrate at different levels as we rise above. As Barbara Brennen said, you can eat cat food if your energy is running right. Don’t be attached to any belief except that God loves you and His answer is within. Jesus is our way shower, our brother, our friend and confident. We can do it all and more.
