Stop the Federal Government Insanity!

Friday, May 14th, 2010

OK, so this morning with my coffee I got these three news tid bits: Holder can’t say Extreme Islamists, some left nut senator wants to pass a bill so the Federal Government can know the size of my ass, and also pass a bill for grading parents on school volunteering. I can’t take it anymore! This is not America and the federal government has gone wayyyy toooo far!

So, Obama can get rid of The Day of Prayer, which is a Christian observance, but his own wing man can’t say Islamic Terrorists. Some Fat Cat on the Hill wants to get a new federal program, which will cost us more money, to meauser the BMI of our children from ages 2 through 18. Then, if the BMI is too high, it will be sent to the Fedreal Government. For what, your big ass record? IF it is too high, do they show up at your door and put your kids on diets? My fat ass is none of their business. If I want to eat fast food all day, which by the way I don’t, I will. As a matter of fact, I am a big girl but guess what All my stats are perfect. Low Blood pressure, Great Vitamin D levels and Low cholesterol. But who cares about my health stats I am heavy set and we can’t have that in America. NO, NO, NO we all must be a size 2. Oh and if you are a woman you must look like a man but have big fake boobs and nice round ass. This is not about health but control and an allowed prejudice against anyone who isn’t a size 2, My bad!

Now, we are not hearing about the SLOP this same govenrment serves at all public schools across the nation. We are not hearing about the meat used in those meals that even the fast food industry will not buy or give to consumers. We are not hearing about the high fat , no nutritious content of the government food being served at the government public schools. Yet, they are going to measure our kid’s BMI’s and make a record of it. Meanwhile, thank God Michelle is going to crack the whip on private industry’s food marketing. Forget about looking in her own back yard and fixing the public school slop go to the MONEY! Again, no mention of the SLOP WITH NO NUTRITION SERVED AT YOUR GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS!

Then on top of that, they want to grade parents and make 30 hours of volunteering at the public school mandatory. Hold on, don’t my tax dollars pay for these schools in the first place? Now, the government is going to tell me I need to do more for a public service I pay for?! An aside, at my best friend’s daughter’s public elementary school they watched movies this week while teacher’s got massages. Yea, they are over worked and over burdened and needed a break. Gee, I wonder who paid for those massages? This was in Maryland

So, Let me get this straight: terrorists want to kill us, we are dealing with the biggest oil spill ever, a huge flood, printing money we don’t have, a rising debt that can never be paid off, illegals sucking us dry and states going broke but my fat ass and my salt intake are what the Feds are concerned about! Oh, OK now I get, that really makes sense, PHEW!

More to Love

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

I am not a big fan of the bachelor shows but the new installment is called More to Love. We see big size women competeing for a big sized man. I was really glad we were finally going to see some larger women on the screen looking for true love. In support, I decided to watch it. Thus far, it has been disappointing. Instead of seeing empowered women who love and accept themsleves we see mostly insecure girls, a lot of crying and the hoping someone else will accept them so they can feel better about themselves. Here is a clue you need to love and accept yourself first!

I used to diet on 1500 calories, worked out like a mad woman and would lose a large amount of weight. Ineveitably, I would gain it back. In my 40’s after a serious illness, I gained a ton of weight. NO matter how I tried to diet, I just could not do it. I then found the group overcoming overeating. This was the beginning of my healing. It is an excellent thought system and I urge everyone to check it out. I don’t agree with every single thing they recommend but it really turned the tide for me. God being the Great King He is, He knew I needed another healing not a weight loss. So, my 40’s was about me learning to love myself as is. Also, learning to deal with my food addictions like binging. Instead of hiding my food, I brought it out in the open. You should have seen my husband’s face the first time I drug out a whole cake and started eating! It was a hoot and soo liberating. No more hiding my secret addiction. I don’t eat whole cakes anymore and that was part of my healing. This love for myself became the real me not one contigent on my numbers.

My personal goal is doing portions, keeping up with my excercise and not using food to fill up my void. Do I fall from this direction yea I sure do. More often then not though I stay on it. If I lose weight great, if I don’t I won’t lose sleep over it. I don’t have any health problems so my curves are not a health threat. Government is trying to create this idea that all those with any fat on them pose health problems. It is a load of crap. There are many curvy women who have perfect heatlh stats and dont’ need to lose weight for health. I am not suggesting if you are morbidly obese you should not lose weight. What I am saying is we must work on the inside before we see something different on the outside. I am also saying we are all indviduals built differently. We are not all one size nor are we suppose to be!

We have been brainwashed in this society and told if we don’t look like hollywood beauties we are ugly. I argue you are not allowed to feel good about yourself if you are large in this country. It is better to be a smoker or hooked on heroine then be heavy. Look at Anna Nicole Smith. This society is obsessed by size. . More to Love has missed the point. I want to see large women in charge. I want to see us women loving ourselves as we are right now. This journey is personal but we also have some things in common.

We should be willing to change the climate in this country about size. Instead of feeling bad about who we are, we need to say no to the outrageous bias. I make no apologies for who I am and yes I feel good just like this. I am healthy and I am no size 2. There are many of us curvey women that are doing just fine. I was hoping More to Love would show that side of the story. Instead we see a lot of 20 something women who are unhappy with their size and they lack acceptance of self and project that on to society.

Under the guise of health

Monday, May 18th, 2009

The boy scouts are on the band wagon,  no fats allowed.  My irratation really started when I read that Representative W.T. Mayhall, Jr and other Mississppi politicians wrote the bill HB 282.  This bill would prevent restaurants and other food establishments in Mississppi from serving food to obese people.   The state department of health would give the criteria and the food establishments would have to follow.  The Boy Scouts are in step with this insidious infringement.  They have created a criteria for volunteers going on adventerous outings such as hiking or white water rafting.  The volunteers can not be overweight.  The argument being they will not be within 30 minutes of a hospital!   Anyone can be in need of medical assistance not only the heavy set.  This is blatantly prejudice.  The idea that fat is the only criteria for poor health is incredolous.  Although the truly obese are in greater risk of poor health, there are many healthy considered over weight.

The height weight table was created by the Met Life Insurance Company in the early 1940s.   Although it was never meant to be the definitive formula for height and weight, it became adopted as such.   It was updated in 1983 but recently it has been acknowldged  in NO way does one size fit all.

I myself am no size 0 and have a large build.  I started questioning the conversation, or should I say the insanity, over the “war”, yes war, on fat.  The argument is always cloaked in concern for the obese and how anyone overweight is at greater risk for illness.  The truth is we just don’t like fat.  Although heavier men are included, women are most effected.  We have been brain washed into believing women are suppose to look like boys with the exception of a large chest and round rear.  We have been convinced that Hollywood women are what Americans want to see and be.  In actuality,  the average size of the American female is a 14.  This is a far cry from what we see on the movie screens and pictures in the tabloids.  Hollywood has been a true perpetrater of a female image that is untenable.  It is Hollywood that desires this image and only makes young girls and women feel rotten about themselves.

I have low blood pressure, low cholseterol, and work out 6 days a week so should my curves matter?  Why am I suppose to be concerned about my health risks? I have better stats then a lot of my skinner friends.  Why aren’t they being targeted?  This is not about health but a prejudice about bigger sizes.  If it were about health,  this bill HB282 and the Boy Scouts would have to dig much deeper.  Every single person would have to carry a form that included the following stats:  blood pressure, cholesterol levels, diabetic information, how much one smokes and imbibes in alcohol.  This would create a fair playing field.  I guess we must question, is this the kind of playing field we want?  My freedoms are being invaded and is this out cry really about health?  There is only one battle cry here and it wreaks!  Fat, the last allowed prejudice!

My point about Fat finally Proven!

Monday, August 11th, 2008

This is part of an article I copied. This just makes my point. We must finally admit we have been brainwashed by a society that can only tolerate one size and it must be small. Body Image is much more of an issue for women and Advertising and Hollywood have made sure that women grow up hating their bodies. The women in Hollywood are the one’s that are sick not the average American who works out, eats healthy and loves her curves. Let’s take our power back women. This study proves that being fat, I like to say curvey, or being thin is no guarantee of who will have risks to high blood pressure and the like!

Half of overweight adults may be heart-healthy

CHICAGO You can look great in a swimsuit and still be a heart attack waiting to happen. And you can also be overweight and otherwise healthy. A new study suggests that a surprising number of overweight people about half have normal blood pressure and cholesterol levels, while an equally startling number of trim people suffer from some of the ills associated with obesity.

The first national estimate of its kind bolsters the argument that you can be hefty but still healthy, or at least healthier than has been believed.

The results also show that stereotypes about body size can be misleading, and that even “less voluptuous” people can have risk factors commonly associated with obesity, said study author MaryFran Sowers, a University of Michigan obesity researcher.

“We’re really talking about taking a look with a very different lens” at weight and health risks, Sowers said.

In the study, about 51 percent of overweight adults, or roughly 36 million people nationwide, had mostly normal levels of blood pressure, cholesterol, blood fats called triglycerides and blood sugar.

Almost one-third of obese adults, or nearly 20 million people, also were in this healthy range, meaning that none or only one of those measures was abnormal.

Yet about a fourth of adults in the recommended-weight range had unhealthy levels of at least two of these measures. That means some 16 million of them are at risk for heart problems.

It’s no secret that thin people can develop heart-related problems and that fat people often do not. But that millions defy the stereotypes will come as a surprise to many people, Sowers said.

Even so, there’s growing debate about the accuracy of the standard method of calculating whether someone is overweight. Health officials rely on the body mass index, a weight-height ratio that does not distinguish between fat and lean tissue.
